Summer Holidays

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying your summer holidays and finding lots of fun things to do. I thought you might like to see a picture of me on my holiday, here I am holding a sea urchin, when you hold it you can feel a sucker on your hand, it doesn't hurt you but it just feels a little strange. Also you may be able to see in the picture that my hair is growing quite well now although it is still quite short!

I would love to hear about what you have been doing this summer holiday. Maybe you could blog back to tell me some of the things you have been doing this summer or maybe you went somewhere which you would like to tell us about. It would be great to hear from you and I look forward to hearing some of your holiday news!

I will be back to school in September and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again. A new school year, a new year 6 and my new hair!! I wonder how long it will have grown by the end of year six 2010? Perhaps you could estimate? Maybe I'll be pulling it out by the end of the year!!! Only joking, I'm sure I won't, I think you are going to be a great year six and I'm looking forward to working with you. Enjoy the rest of your summer and don't forget to blog us some of your holiday news.

Mrs Kirby Briggs post here

Hello, thank you to everyone who has kept sending me messages. I do enjoy reading them and finding out about what you are all doing.

I am sorry that it's been a little while since I blogged or came to see you all but I have been feeling very tired because of the treatment, but the chemotherapy treatment is all finished now and I am starting to feel much better again. :)

In another couple of weeks I will start another kind of treatment called radiotherapy, I will have that every day for 4 weeks. I hope to come and see you all before that starts.

Not long now before SATs year 6, I hope you have all been working hard, just do your best and it will all be good. I will be thinking of you all next week. I'm sure you will all do very well and all your hard work will pay off.

After next week you will be able to relax a bit then you will have lots of exciting things to do and you'll have loads of fun. Herd farm sounds great and don't forget you get to soak the teachers at the end of the year! Oh yes............ and they get to soak you too! :)

Gala day is also coming up in a couple of weeks so don't forget to bring in some goodies to raise some funds, remember it all goes back to you! I will have a look in my cupboards to see if there is something I can bring to help.

Anyway take care, hope all goes well next week and I hope to see you all soon, x

Dancing on Ice Castleton Style

What a great day! On Thursday Year 6 and some of year 5 were lucky enough to go into Leeds for the morning. There they experienced the thrill of ice - skating at the ice cube on Millennium Square. Many of you fell, some more times than others but a fantastic time was had by everyone and all were returned safely back to school to tell your stories.

What did you think about the ice - skating, did you fall?
If so how many times did you fall?
Did you find it easy to get the hang of?
What about the instructors, did you think they were good?

Share your story with us about your morning at The Cube!

My Cool Hat!

Hi everyone, well here I am in my funny hat. I said I would show you a picture of me wearing it. This is me in the hospital on Thursday when I had my second treatment.

The Nurses think I am doing really well although some of my hair is beginning to come out so maybe the hat isn't working for me. So who knows maybe I could end up with less hair than Mr Jones!!!!! ..... Oh no!  Anyway they said at the hospital that we will have to wait and see what happens over the next three weeks.

I think I may have to go and treat my self to some really nice hats. Of course they would have to be trendy I think. What do you all think? It would be great if you could all help me choose.

So if any of you have any suggestions of some good hats and which shops I could get them from and if you know how much they are then that would be even better. I don't think I would choose a red one like the one in the picture though!

I guess all you people in year 6 will be making sure you have all got your own hats and gloves ready for ice - skating. I have a feeling that is coming up soon. Maybe you could ask Mr Darnell what date it is and if I feel well enough at the time I might be able to come along and watch you all?

Take care and don't forget to keep working hard at all your lessons, hope to see you all again soon.

Norfolk Swans at Castleton

Hello to you all, thank you for all your messages so far. It has been really lovely to hear what you have all been doing in school. It sounds like you all had a good time in art recreating the swan pictures with pastels, I'm sure there must be some really great pieces of work to show off your talents with a display on the wall.
Are they as good as last years?

I am now into my second week after my first treatment and I am doing very well although I have been quite tired from time to time. I am getting lots of rest, eating healthy and doing some light exercise. My next treatment will be at the end of January.

Keep me posted with all your news as I really like to know what you are all doing and keep working hard as I'm sure you are all are. Perhaps someone can tell me more about the new youth club that Mr Jones is doing? Does he let anyone have a go with the new games?

A very big thank you

What a lovely surprise I had today when I saw all your lovely messages, it really put a big smile on my face, I was so pleased!
How lovely it is to hear about what you have all been busy doing. The myths and Legends topic sounds really great and you are going to make it into a film too! How exciting! I hope I will get chance to see that some time. Well I guess you all went swimming today? You all sounded really excited about that too. How did it go? I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.  Was it very cold when you came out to the bus? Keep trying hard with all your work as I'm sure you all will.
Thank you all so much for your good wishes, I have had my first treatment and I am doing well. Even better after reading all your lovely comments. :)
